Description

Garden Tour: Whidbey Island Woodcarver's Art Front door on the log home belonging to the couple who own the house and gardens on the day's third stop..."The Gathering Place". Here in relief carving is a local heron and his reflection. The reflection is done in the style of Pacific Northwest Indian Art. Want to know a wee bit about technique and tools for relief carving? Great! I have seen a number of these, though this is the first I have seen in wood. Often it is a natural painting above and a Haida reflection, which is itself a great reflection.
