Description

I took this on an amble to Fowey before the mist became too heavy to risk my camera becoming soaked. This is one of the less treacherous routes to take even when the mist descends. Care is needed, but for the most part staying away from the unfenced cliff edge guarantees a safe and wonderful walk. Besides which I love this weather more than any other. Often the mist is so dense and arrives so abruptly it takes your breath away! Much the same as it does on Dartmoor, another misty day favourite. Add to this scene my encounters with the somewhat ghostly figures of vacationers emerging out of the greyish-white wonder, most seemingly enjoying it as much as I and it was, all in all, my idea of heaven! I'm not much of one for the crowds of summer here, but I have met some of the nicest holidaying folk on my rambles as it is possible to meet anywhere! A warning should be related about the fast descending mists though, just as it is on Dartmoor. One elderly couple I met yesterday were quite peturbed by it and a warning could have saved them that stress. Thank you for taking the time to look. ^=^

Beautiful scene Carpathia! Hope it's a bit sunnier for the next week as we're spending it in Looe :)

Marvellous! I meet super holidaymakers too, but I haven't been near the sea much yet...all about to change as the water temp is up to 20!

Lovely image especially with the little boat coming out of the bay - gives it perspective.

This is stunning and my jaw dropped as I made one of my countless (and sometimes appropriate, but not always so) Dr. Who associations. I think that the snazzy, updated Dr. Who makes use of this same stretch of land--or did, during the period when David Tenant (I thing I spelled his name right) served as the Doctor...in a downloadable wallpaper thingie from bbc.co.uk or somewhere like that, the TARDIS stood a bit to the center right of what you photographed, while an super-imposed character (one of those evolved cats dressed as a nun) stood in the foreground with a hyper-futuristic city in the background. I immediately saw that when I saw this image...and needless to say, I giggled. Okay, so after rambling on about Dr. Who and crafting a comment of exceedingly high nerd-value, I have to also sat that this is a brilliant and moody piece of photographic work. I love the thick fog-soup rolling in. This is great!
