KARAKASA-KOZOU : umbrella monster

It is saied that he kick up a person to sky on the day when the strong wind blows.(YUUREI-GASA regend in Tottori)
The tool to use in human life may have ability to change after time if it become old. This means TSUKUMO-GAMI(付喪神 (つくもがみ)).
風の強い日に人を吹き飛ばすと言われている。(幽霊傘 ：鳥取地方の伝説)
人間の生活で使われる道具は、古くなると変化する能力を持つと言われている。
これを付喪神という。

That's why the Japanese sleep on futons on tatami mats! No space for boogie men under THEIR beds! SO they umbrella monsters! I prefer monsters you have to seek out like that! If he isn't fireproof, she does have a lantern to set him on fire with! Pretty nice picture. Can't wait for the next scene!
