Description

Volume I - Episode 18 Where: Melbourne, Australia When: E-Day, 8:01 am Despite the sound of Jessica's voice on the phone, Kim turned into Bourke Street expecting to find it just as deserted as the rest of the city. But there Jessica stood, in the middle of the road, wearing the same little black dress Kim had seen her in the night before. Kim felt like her chest was going to explode. She had spent the whole night driving all over Melbourne, down empty street after empty street, confused, afraid and alone, desperate to find any sign of her best friend and lover. And here she was, finally, standing just a hundred metres ahead. They were the longest hundred metres of Kim's life. She pulled the car to a stop in the middle of the road and threw open the driver's side door. For a moment she just stared, unmoving, drinking in every detail of Jessica's shape the way a man lost in the desert might stare unbelieving at an oasis. "Babe?" Jessica asked. And then it was too much for Kim to bear. She dove out of the car and leapt into Jessica's arms. "I love you so much!" she cried. She burst into tears. The heat between them was intense. Two best friends alone in a dead city. This was true friendship. This was true love. I had my doubts that they would actually meet up but I'm glad it worked out, maybe there is hope after all. Nice job!
