Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Stellar POV, colors, focus and postwork in this image of the gorgeous blooms, M! Hopefully, you cleared away the life-sucking weeds and grasses around this lovely but lonely rosebush, giving it more of a chance to survive at its full potential.

The light just pops, and you're doing some massive DOF stuff in this shot too! I love it. The rose petals are so well caught, so bright in the sunlight, but not washed out in the kind of glare you'd sometimes get, especially from fuscia/red colors AND light together. This rocks. I'm really diggin' the DOF in this. Hmmm...why does that sound kinda like a weird Rock diddy on late nite radio..."Diggin' the DOF" by Nancy and the Ninjas...or something like that. Uh-oh, I better shut up before another story starts oozing out and keeps me awake again. So in shutting up, I'll first say that I like this a LOT!

Roses always bloom where they are planted...even if not by human hand. There's a lesson in all this:) Neat photo of what now may be a wild rose.
