Cue the harp sound effect! Once there was a time where television sitcoms, especially those with children in the cast, would take on a more serious tone and tackle a relevant social problem, such as a character becoming an alcoholic in the span of twenty-two minutes. By the 1980s the term "Very Special Episode" was being used for these stories, and parents were urged to watch with their kids and discuss the topic after the show. As time went by, programs like "Blossom" tended to overuse the V.S.E. concept, and by the end of the 90s, when "irreverent" became the buzzword, V.S.E.s were more often mocked than played straight. Since I am getting to that unfortunate age where I look more fondly on the past than on the future, I present to you a Very Special Episode! The star of the series is KELLY, shown at two different ages, distinguishable by her unique deep red hair color. There IS a real moral lesson here, one which you are obviously old enough not to need to hear. However, the real moral will not make itself clear until close to the end. I would enjoy hearing guesses about what it might be!! I've had trouble maintaining viewers over long series, and this will be in ten parts. It also has a lot to do with kids. I am not expecting the number of views for later installments to reach more than 20 or so, but still this is a story I want to share.
