Thanks all! Kingtut You are the THIRD person to tell me that. Is the penetrating power of Constellation Class Federation Heavy Cruiser's Main phaser banks well known in comparison to a Venator Class Star Destroyer's shields and hull?

I think Warsies need to take a reality check. Phasers are lightyears ahead of lasers, which is the primary Star Wars weapon. Star Wars shields are designed to cope with the one, not the other. Nice shot Eric, and as you depicted, a Phaser would go though a Star Destroyer's shields like s**t through a goose! :)
