Description
This Rio Grande F3 AB Unit Diesel transported travelers back in the 50's and 60's. It now resides at the Colorado Railroad Museum in Golden. I purposely left in the end of the rail to emphasise the fact that it was also the end of an era.

I at first took it for an exquisitely made O-scale model until I saw the grass and then read the text. The paint job makes it look almost unreal in this pic. Yes, end of the line and of the F3 units. However, I hear there are still GG-1 electrics from the 1930s running freights in the Phladelphia - New Haven corridor. Simply amazing locomotives!
