Description

I chose to post Partition Arch, as the last of my arch postings because as I looked through this arch, I didn’t see more arches, I was looking out over the Salt Valley and a vast desert. Arches National Park is located just outside of Moab, Utah, and is 119 square miles (310 km2) in size. Its highest elevation is 5,653 feet (1,723 m) at Elephant Butte, and its lowest elevation is 4,085 feet (1,245 m) at the visitor center. There are about 2,000 arches in the park and since 1970, forty-three of these arches have caved in due to erosion. There is one more park rock formation that I am going to post - it is not an arch. Scanned from a photo taken in 1996. Zoom for best viewing details. Thanks for stopping by, taking a look and for all your previous favs and comments. They are very much appreciated. Dana

A real beauty to top off this excellent series, Dana! You can see all the way from the wonderfully detailed foreground, thru the hole and out to the everlasting distance.
