I first discovered photography at the age of 8or 9 when i was given an old box brownie and after a couple of years I progressed to a Kodak folding camera I remember it took a size 127 film.
My father built me a dark room in the loft and I spent many hours learning about processing and printing my films, both black and white and colour. when marrige and family came along time for the processing side of photography had to take a back seat.  After 50 years working we retired to Chard in Somerset southwest England (we think it could be the best part of the world). About 3 years ago we got into digital photography , recently my son Ian who has a site on renderosity (iambrose) talked me into joining, I am so glad he did as it's so nice to read the comments and see how other people view your pictures.Â

An interesting thought and a great image!!!

This could be a book illustration concerning decision making, motivation, etc. Have you ever stopped to think where you'd be today if one of your choices or a pivotal event in your life was changed...? It is fun to think about a few what ifs now and then. What if Germany had won the Battle of Britain? What if I hadn't bought a camera? etc., etc. :-D

this reminds me of a poem by Robert Frost called the road not taken. Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, and sorry i could not travel both and be one traveller, long istood and looked down the one as far AS i could towhere it bent in the undergrowth, then took the other (Missing out two verses) I shall be telling this with a sigh somewhere ages and ages since, two roads diverged in a wood and i-i took the one less travelled by, and that has made all the difference. Great thought provoking picture Wally.

Super photo Wally :)

Yes the greatest question. What if? One of the most profound things in life is our ability to choose one way or another. Free will! Excellent capture!

any number of seemingly mundane happenings can easily change the outcome of our life.would we take another path if we could see into the future?

Of course the "Difficult Route" is right in between! Isn't it nice that we are able to choose between two equally interesting routes?

I've found that most people tend to go to the right - sooooo I always go left - the path less travelled – so to speak. Wonderful shot. Dana.
