Description
The background was done using Gimp. I used the Cararra particle emitters and volumetric clouds for the galaxy itself. Then I used Gimp again for some post work. I am not real happy with the post work but it is my first image in a long time. It is good to be back.

This is pretty good, I've been wondering how to do this. I've been looking at the Hubble telescope images and trying to figure out how to do similar images. Looks like you are on the right track!

I've never played with the particle emitters, but can see that I need to. This is a great galaxy. Having another larger emitter further away perhaps to try to add more depth - take with a grain of salt, you did a very nice job here!
