Description

Hello friends here you see the: Oedipoda caerulescens, in Dutch: Blauwvleugelsprinkhaan. This grasshopper is very rare. He has blue wings, which you obviously can not see, but there his name comes from. He adjusts to mimicry. He fully adapts to its environment. That you can see in this picture too. I photographed it on the heath (the Brunsummerheide) not far away from our place, on August 7. By the way, in Brunssum is a military base where f.e. are working: Americans, British, Canadians, also people from the AWACS. Our youngest daughter has worked on that base for hobby, as DJ by C.F.N.B. We had often Americans or British as neighbors, they were usually very pleasant people. Better than what now permanently reside in that house. You now what, we grasshopper our dirty neighbor away (LOL) Wishing you all a very lovely weekend, and thank you so much for all your, such nice comments and favs. Bye friends :D

I am actually amazed, that you had discovered this little devil on the ground, he obviously has the same trademarks as a Chameleon... no wonder - he is based near the Military base, in order not to be detected ! very smart indeed ! BB
