I am now safely back home in Independence, Missouri.
I took this photo shortly after takeoff; at this point we were at about 10,000 feet according to our pilot. Tampa Airport is partially visible behind a small cloud near the center of the photo. While I would like to claim credit for composing this with the rainbow, I actually didn't notice it until I looked at the flight photos earlier today.
At any rate, the view of the wing should answer Mike's question - no I wasn't on a Jet Blue flight... So it was rather uneventful. However, just after we all boarded, the flight attendants were entertaining us, and kidding back and forth on the intercom. The flight attendant near the front of the plane quipped: "Don't make me go Jet Blue on you.." and it got a good laugh from the passengers.
It might be a few days before I get caught up on comments - lots to do here - but I'll get to your posts in the next few days! :-D

Huh ... Southwest flies from Florida to Missouri? I like the rainbow on the wingtip against the rainbow against the clouds. Great shot! Glad to hear you're safely home.

had to look up this jet blue thing as i did no knew about. glad you are safe home,and i wish you had taken a spacko-airliner different kind of enterainment from our attendants as you might imagine heheheh, maybe i get myself an aircraftor or a huge spacecraft to pose more passengers....... for my runtime that is ,what with all the kerosene pricing i had to sell my lear jet muahahahaha. and do a scene about this. see you later alligator.

What a great shot, Rod!! It's interesting to be able to see Tampa below, with the water and inlets/rivers and the white clouds contrasting nicely with the colors on the tip of the wing. I didn't realize wingtips bent up like that! But then I haven't been on a plane since our honeymoon in 1987, LOL. Nice surprise about the rainbow!! And it was nice that you had a fun flight crew. I think I'll have to start that phrase around the police dept. where I work. 'Don't make me go JetBlue on you!' What I can't believe is that JetBlue flight attendant wants his job back....as if!!!

Dang man, you point that camera of yours and get some amazing images. I'm lucky if I don't lob off the top of someones head with my cheap little pocket digital camera. Really nice shot here Rod. Glad Missouri has one of her best back home.
