I think most of us Artist types share gossip about new 3D software. At least my close knit small group of friends do. Comments from them on individual exploratory designs with Bryce7 & Bryce7 Pro, ranged from: "Bryce7 Pro is SO big, it takes forever to DL!" to "Pretty cool work on fine details, does it render faster?" to "Don't buy it & save your $$$ Amigo; I've had nothing but crash, crash, crash problems," to "It's a monumental POS!" All of which raised my eyebrows. LOL Down loading speed depends on your individual ISP's server speed; I have 100Mbps & DLed EVERYTHING in under 43 minutes. Actually less; but I'd stepped outside for a couple of "Harwk, cough, exhale" smokey breaks during dling. Then I decided to do some renders in each of my friends general styles: "Unethical Origins" was the first & only took 5 hours & change render to HDD. While that was going I'd set up & rendering @ same time: "Northside Yowzer City" - 9 hours render to HDD, and "Southside Yowzer City" - with custom sky work, more extreme mats, reflection settings & big multiple Bryce Obps...Boom! My first, and so far only crash. In all fairness, this was when I'd used keyboard shortcut Ctrtl + S. No more crashes since clicking file >save / save as. Took 10:20:17 render to HDD. "Something Inside" & Greening Hell2" still rendering to HDD. I did come up with an Acid Test - for 7's render engine speed. I'd done a design in Bryce6.3, AFTER 3 weeks render to HDD @ 21%, Bryce crashed. My plan is to import that 6.3 Br file into 7 Pro & re-render. Hope this info helps my fellow Brycers.
