Description

I thought I'd let you see a little of what I do for a living. As well as programming and designing EPoS systems, I repair thermal printers, coupled to the till used at the point of sale, after spillage or mis-use. This Epson TMT88 MK 3 printer, had been covered in some alcoholic beverage and had stopped working. After a bit of TLC it's kicking out receipts just like new! lol The white Samsung SPR 350 is just in for routine maintenance after being removed from a redundant site. I do still find it viable to invest 20 minutes or so, trying to repair a printer. Especially when they will normally be fine with a little knowledge and a reassuring whisper!lol It saves about $400 not having to buy new. Fault finding, is quite theraputic, after running around, designing systems. Thanks for stopping by! Steve :o)

Thanks so much for sharing Steve, it seems you are able to do almost anything when it comes to electronics. I'm sure you must run into a lot of situations where even your amazed at what happened.

Steve, sounds like lots of fun! LOL In this day of planned obsolesce, it is good to see that your part repair rather than rubbish! Besides the machines of this day seem to more modular in construing, suited sometimes to the Delta's of design, toward robotic assembly! Interesting image, you can take pride in your efforts!

Too bad you don't make house calls in the southwestern US. Seems that printers and I don't always get along. LOL Thanks for the exposition.
