Description

Actually this is a shot of the Erickson Air Crane Goliath from EAA. Dave's work is right behind the airport. They have their company picnic every year at the same time as the big airshows. That the secret to my shots. They know we are always back there and they give us a show too. "Goliath" at AirVenture Oshkosh 2010 Erickson Air-Crane brought N158AC "Goliath" to EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2010 and put on quite a show with the airlift introduction of the new Ford 2011 Explorer as well as two demonstrations of the powerful fire suppression capability of the S-64. It holds a lot of water! For more info: http://www.ericksonaircrane.com Much peace and love, Cheri

Monster lifter! Based on the Sikorsky S-64 skycrane, it's been greatly modified.

Oh man, that thing has one intense face on it! Just look at those bulging eyes and that grim expression around the mouth. Wonderful capture of this creature just before it must have come to scold you roundly for sitting on the grass or something!

I had a Florida flashback when I saw this in thumbnail. I thought it was what they call a Palmetto bug down there. Which is kind of like a giant-2" long-flying cockroach. Thought it was funny that you had put it under 'aviation' untill I saw it actually was an aircraft. And what a big and interestingly colored one it is. Looks kind of like a slightly sinister child's toy from a distance. Cool shot!
