Description

Only a little more than a month away (September 23rd) and Autumn will be here. Goodbye to a rather hot summer. The image depicts a typical high desert area where you get a little bit of the colder weather; some deciduous trees and traces of snow in the winter. Such places are Payson, Prescott and Show Low which are refuges from the summer heat and are only a few hours from Phoenix. The plant models featured are: • Two populations of grass clumps by 'Walli' (one re-colored as dry grass) - and, are available at NWDA. • One population of vinca (periwinkle) available at the Ashundar site. • One population of grass by 'klas' available at the Planetside Forum site. • One population of Dry Shrubs (#3) by 'Walli' (re-colored to a lighter shade) - and, available at NWDA. • Four individual 'The Noble One' trees by 'Walli' placed at different locations and rotated differently. Two of the four use a yellow leaf cluster which was made by 'Dotthy'. This tree is available at the Planetside Forum site. • The cirrocumulus clouds (used in part) are of a development by 'dandelO' and are available at the Planetside Forum site. I get into the habit of using the same old; same old stuff; and, need to get out of the rut. Hopefully, my next images will take a turn for the better. Bob

Nice expression of early morning light casting long shadows over the ground. Very calming. Referring to Rob's "NB Summer". You're probably aware that NB is a latin abbreviation (nota bene) for Note Well. I think Rob hails from Wales and I'm guessing they haven't had much of a Summer there. June was good (up the road here in Scotland), but since then it's been "Wet Wet Wet", and the Scots word "dreich" probably best describes the weather over here.

This is just stunning Bob. Love the angle of the lighting and atmo looks perfect as does the populations. Very picturesque. Well done!!! Summer is still here for some time yet in South Central B.C. Heavy smoke from the fires and temps around 35C/100F for the next while.

Now you are talking Bob...but you are going to hate me for saying this if you don't already...did a curves adjustment on auto and only got only a slight variation in contrast mostly in thee foreground, but that could be in the difference in monitors.

Yes...love the contrasts and saturated colors...here's a challenge...try a sci-fi image next and I'll try an Arizona desert scene. You do one in my style and I'll do one in your style....hmmm...to pull this off, I'll have to start thinking like a vacuum salesman...LOL!!!

My wife & I used to travel from Florence up to Show Low & visit relatives Bob. You have captured the essence of it here! My wife can't believe this is a virtual image created on a computer! You've done a spectacular job! BRAVO!!

Excellent- the slightly muted colors and light / shadow give this a superb mood. The breeze here in the midwest is already carrying hints of autumn- too much heat, everything is very dry.
