Description

Twenty years ago , a group searching for the Loch Ness monster were suprised when their sonar picked up a strange item on the loch bed , a Wellington bomber that went down during world war 2 . It was raised and is now being carefully restored at it's birthplace , the old Vickers factory , now part of the Brooklands museum

Aha! So THAT's what the famous monster looks like! I see a sturdy snout, a hunched back, even wings - must have been able to fly! Nice photo showing the latice type of frame work on this plane type. Interesting with the bent propeller blades, probably from hitting the water at high speed. Nice that someone got the means to fish it up and rebuild it. I wonder if the crew was able to get out before it ditched.
