Description

Firstly excuse me if my picture may not be perfect but I've had resize and to compress a lot it because the limits of 512KB on Renderosity. The tradition links this mysterious object (in english known as "Emerald Tablet") to Egyptian culture, especially related to Thoth and his epic. I read a lot on the topic and some documents make me think that its origin should be related to ancient Sumerian culture, rather the Egyptians. So my work is a artistic interpretation of this idea. I hope you enjoy it.

I've read a few things about Hermeticism and the Emerald Tablet as well. Always found much of it profoundly appealing, in particular the vision of humanity as a microcosm as enshrined in the message, "As Above, So Below." This image has a nice New Age feel about it. Is the gentleman in the image intended as Hermes Trismegistus by any chance? :)

Wonderfully conceived and a mystery well depicted here. I have, btw, been in Palmyra, in Syria, where those interesting columns (hopefully still) stand.
