Description

Old Baldomerus was very proud of his daughter. He came down the stone steps to the Alchemitorium to find, much to his surprise, that his daughter, Camarine, was hard at work with a stack of books and a large, golden mixing vessel, busy learning new spells and alchemical concoctions. She was so busy so she didn't notice him enter. She didn't dare lose her focus. Though he was 145 years old Baldomerus didn't look at all that old. He had a great, long white beard but the sparkle in his eyes and the spryness of his walk told of a life kept youthful by his incantations. He didn't seem to age though he was coming close to the end of his life, regardless of his magicks. It seemed nothing was gained for free and now he was aging much faster than he had in the last one hundred years. He must remember to teach Camarine his youth spell. It would come in handy when the age retarding hex he had put on her wore off. Camarine had noticed her father but could not stop now. To do so would have released all of the energies in her fire spell loose, all at once. It might have taken out all of this end of the Keep had she done so. She had used a lot more tincture of Mercury than was normal and with the Paradenum base she had used it was extremely volatile. In a few more moments the hellfire would become stable, sink back into the bowl as a liquid and then she could bottle it for safe keeping. Just as father had taught her…..

Just wanted to do something with a darker background. Tried to play the light against the dark though I may have got too many midtones and lost the struggle between the two. hehehehe.... Hope you still like it....gene
