I'm sure a title was hardly needed and I hesitated to upload this shot but if you zoom there is much to see!
The bridge was built between 1588 and 1591 and with the single span and a height of 24ft from the water it allowed the great galleys to pass underneath. Until the Accademia bridge was built in 1854 it was the only means of crossing the Grand Canal on foot.
