Description

"Did You Say All? O hell-kite! All?" Said by Shakespeare's MacBeth at the end of the play upon learning that his wife and children had been killed by his rival. It is a line that has stuck in my mind all these years. I think a lot of people around the world are saying similiar things, what with the floods in Pakistan and China, the many colateral damage victims in the various wars and civil strifes that seem to abound. Then there are those whose entire families are wiped out by disease or starvation or a combination. In this random chance universe of ours, it seems to me that the wonder is not that these tragedies happen so often but that they don't occur more. At any rate, I'm dedicating this posting to those few survivors of such events; the ones left with only grief and memories. One of the things I like about this render is the way the twisted I-beams seem to be throwing up their "arms" in grief as well as the female figure. I wish I could claim such creative genius, but the truth is it was a happy accident. Thanks, once more, for all your comments on my previous posting. Always appreciated. Strong emotions. Yeah, it's hard for us more fortunate to image the loss in recent events and other earthquakes and tsunamis - and hurricanes - over the past view years.

An excellent piece, and a fine thought to go with it. Stonemason's ruins make a perfect backdrop for this apocalyptic vision. Nicely done!
