Description

A while back, Bill put a kinda challenge out there to the photographers to capture prop blur. Well today, I went to the local Red Cross Blood drive center, Which just happens to the the meeting room for the Zion Luthern Church. It was a touch warm in there, what with all those fine people either giving blood or taking it (depends on which side of the needle your on!) and I looked up and saw the fans rotating and I said to myself, 'Self! Those look like 3-bladed propellers that you'd see on aircraft!' And self said, 'Yes, by golly they do!' So I took out my trusty camera and I adjusted my shutter speeeeeeeeeeed and took the shot! first time it was all blur and no prop! adjusted downward again took the shot. still blur and no prop.after the third try this is what I got. Enjoy! BTW the people who do the blood drive and the blood drawers know me and know that I take a lot of pictures (they also know that I'm a bit warped, but then again, so what?) Have a great day Mike

Now what I want to know is were you lying on the floor to take this? As Bill said if the plane is stationary on the ground he can get prop blur its the moving planes that give the problem.. So the question to you now is can you take one as I release this from the ceiling and it moves rapidly down towards you? lol... Great shot and prop blur Mike.

Well Mike...I like your style. You did the right thing...adjust the shutter speed until you get just the right blur. Now, if you get a chance to take it up one more level...look for a flying shelf with prop blur. LOL. Thanks Mike for playing along...!!!

I swear you must not of had a camera when you were a kid - lol.... at least now, you can download your pictures and it doesn't cost anything... I remember being a kid and taking shots of fans - they did not come out as expected, but I remember doing this - you're regressing mike - LOL
