Description

Yet Another Chinese Launch. Today marks the start of my next ABIS America Back Into Space story arc. The announcement of the launch of yet another Chinese mission into space once again acts as the catalyst to remind the American people why their hard earned tax dollars are be are being ploughed into the exploration of space and the many and varied programmes created for NASA by its Head of Administration and Development, Robert L Carter. Whilst the Chinese launches are not as frequent as those of NASA, and its European counterpart ESA, the European Space Agency, the launch of the first element of a Chinese space station by a newly developed Chinese Super Booster only a few short years ago, and the frequent additional Chinese launches to send into space crews, supplies and every so often additional components to enlarge the Chinese station, act as a near constant reminder to the American people of the dominant position America lost in space with the end of the space shuttle programme, a position Robert Carter is working hard to regain. With Chinas own national news agency Xinhua covering the launches from an internal prospective, the only other media outlet to have been given access to any Chinese launch which takes place, and is able to report on the launch from an external prospective is GNN, the planet wide Global Network News agency, which has been able to enter into an exclusive deal with the Chinese Government to cover their efforts in space exploration. In the meantime in America Robert Carter has used the second successful test flight of NASAs Cocoon Cargo Carrier, and the successful extension of the International Space Station via the Cocoons payload, as a means of once again making a direct appeal to the Aero-Space Certification Board, the body which oversees the test flights of all new space and aero-space craft, to allow Cocoon to once again carry an actual payload on its next flight into space rather than the dummy payload it would normally be required to carry on this, its third test flight. Once again using the arguments he presented as a means to being allowed to launch an actual payload for the second test flight of Cocoon, and having the test flight data from this second launch, Carter persuades the Board to allow Cocoon to carry yet another actual payload into space on its next flight. Carter knows that if this flight goes off without a hitch it will give him the three successful test flights he needs for Cocoon to be granted its Certificate of Aero-Space Worthiness enabling the carrier to go officially operational.

Spacecraft stamped made in Hong Kong....what ever next. Still if it drives forward ABIS that's cool. This is a cool looking model, and the backgroud 'photo'? is most spectacular.
