Description
for gondolas. There were many of these green lamps which seemed to mark some of these points. i never saw them lit..if they 're not lamps please tell me!

great shot!! The green "lamp" means that there is a traghetto stazio (a ferry boat -gondola only - stop) or passage in a gondola across the Grand Canal. That's a shortcut to avoid a very long road on foot to get to the bridges spanning the Grand Canal. Sometimes inside there's a sacred image and a small candle.
