Description

Fechín caught in an iconic moment, summoning a raven, his namesake ("little raven"). He's my Ebil half-Oni, half-Gotth sorcerer, often the bad guy, but equally often not. Being a preternatural person rather than a proper arcane (wizard, witch, sorcerer)--and a half-demon at that--he does not need a familiar. However, he likes these tough, clever, adaptable birds--as do I--and will often call one for company, as he's apparently doing today. Raven-treats are forthcoming, I expect, which is why the rats are beating a hasty retreat before they become snacks. Production notes: M4 with AN-Toru skin and my own character morph, wearing Euros outfit (pretty!); SBRM3 (DAZ) with common raven texture/morph; Luke A's courtyard; Noggin's rats wisely leaving before the trouble starts; wand stolen from DM Legends, I think. Hair, smoke, magick-fire, blurs, DOF, and assorted tweaks in post. Yay, using Ron's Steam and Smoke! If I get to use Ron's brushes, it's a happy day. ^_^

An excellent pov scene! As usual a fine attention to detail that makes the overall scene so visually pleasing.

The fact that this is so matter of fact/ slice of life and kind of unassuming, despite the magic, makes this one of my favourite Fechin images! The rats scurrying away took me a second, but I love the fact that it did. The search is well worth it, as is that fabric. WOW.

a terrific image with a great story and feel to it... the postwork is very nice and the colours are great I can't help feeling that I would like to see just a hint of detail in the raven, just some small specular ones would even be nice to delineate some feathers and the like. this is a great image Carl

Fantastic work! Love the PoV and effects! Great story arc too! Just got to love those Ebil characters! Particularly when they look that good! ;-)

DrCarl: I concede your poiont, but sadly, the subtle highlights on the bird got wiped out by the compression and size reduction necessary to fit it into the DAZ forum and Rendo gallery. Popping up hotter highlights on the black bird just made it look cheap. Please, the green glowy stuff is quite bad enough! LOL Thank you for your comments!

This is simply awesome. I like the photographic approach with the blurred background rather than the minds eye approach - it really makes you focus on the character...which indeed did grab me right away. Great expression and the wind tossled hair flows in harmony with his cape. Superb attention to textural details too, as he is walking on dirt covered pavement. Striking perspective finishes it off. Really finally crafted image.

The compression factor tends to get rid of fine details-which is definitely something that irks me from time to time. Fechin...I puffy heart your ebil boy-o there. It's a fantastic, very well thought out piece, doll. The little details (like the skittering rats) is what makes a scene interesting, not just the model. Though the model is quite fine to look at as well! ;)
