I often wish I could just switch my mind off. It's usually late, at night, when I try to fall asleep.. and it just goes on and on and on.

"It's usually late, at night ..." I feel for that. Most nights I work straight through, often till dawn. Now it is simply my manner but for years it was my only pathway to decent sleep. A restless mind with the windows open to impressions from the universe does not nourish deep rest. Myself, I can not lie in bed waiting to fall asleep; the sensation of "wasting time" only increases my restlessness. So I get up and set myself to a pending task. Over time I learned that the attending of outstanding tasks actually puts my mind at ease. Upon completing an outstanding labor from the earlier day I am able to tumble to bed and sink into sleep a bear would envy. It would be nice to have a single switch, though, and simply shut down like a PC for the night. :-) What you do have, Anat, is the gifted ability to articulate and give vented form to impressions and inspirations which flow through to your senses. Millions who can not sleep at night do not possess such an evenue of expression. "Blessing and curse" .. I know .. but that's how it is. From my own experience I imagine it may be the fact that you craft these impressions into form that keeps them flowing into your mind even when you wish to turn them off. Sometimes it helps me to write down a brief sketch or a written outline just when the impression comes through. For this very purpose I always keep a notebook and sketchpad next to my bed. Knowing I can find threads of these thoughts the next day and retrieve the whole, if I wish, allows me to let them keep flowing on and past me without further disturbing my rest. It's no on/off switch .. but it helps. Your work is always distinctly your own, Anat, and ever an intriguing inspiration to view. With warmest regard, Terry

So very beautiful, I too have this happen when I try to sleep. An 'Off' switch would be very useful!
