this was taken while my blood was being sucked out of me. the fan was behind and, naturally above me.

Yeah, you definitely got some prop blur there, Mike. You were just about to pass out, right? LOL! Only a true photographer is still thinking about photos while being drained! And what a great thing to do - contributing one's blood for the good of others.
