Black and white just fits this perfectly. Do you know, somewhere in your beautiful area, the council is going to remove a cobbled street because of the risk of someone tripping, and then suing them? I read that yesterday, with utter dismay! Sue those that trip and damage the cobbles, I say! Just fabulous image! I'd love to walk that road! ^=^

I like how you have captured this great row of cottages with all the chimneys lined up like that.

What an amazing photo shot from you! Does this still exist in that condition, Jeff? This are not houses, this is ART!!! You have to see this by zoom!

Excellent capture! Over hear in the States we have such a different definition of what a cottage is. ;)

In the UK a cottage is a small home. It can be terraced, as shown, or standing on its own. A word like cottage is collage - now in the UK the word collage is defined as a picture made up of several pieces of paper or other material. The word montage is several pictures placed together. This is why some say collage when they mean montage. Bet that's stirred up a hornets nest!!!!

The black and white is fantastic. I love the POV on the angle and up the hill. How neat and tidy they look with their lovely English gardens out front. A beautiful street, I'd love to live on.

That is a great shot and only the trash bins show it is a current photo. Dana

Collage seems to be a word that for better or worse, is in a state of flux. In Photoshop, if you want to put images together in a fairly straight forward manner, you go to the tool labeled Create/Photo Collage. Perhaps this is due to the ignorance of the original writers of the program, but I suspect it will stick and collage will gain an additional meaning in the dictionaries. Growing up, I remember collage as being images made by sticking bits to a board, but I don't remember what I called a collection of photos put together in a frame. I notice that picture frames in the US that have a mat to show many images are commonly called collage pictures frames. I wonder when that became so and if they had a different name 20 years ago. Are they called montage picture frames in England? I found both on the Internet. I love this image! Wonderful line of chimneys, textures in the stonework, and solitary individual. The person breaths life into what would still be a lovely image of architecture, but now is much more. Beautiful image! Superb in B&W!
