Description
Ancient Egyptians artisans worked in teams to create fantastic hieroglyphs. A master craftsman would oversee the operation. First the wall was covered with a grid so that they could reproduce the artwork that had been drawn on papyrus. The outline of the glyph was copied in red paint, and corrections were made by the master craftsman in black (notice the corrections made on the left). Sculptors then carved the symbols using a chisel and wooden mallet and finally painters finished the job.

Truly fascinating. I had no idea how involved the process was. You have illustrated the situation really well!

Well done sir! A clever way to have represented the egyptian artistic canon from its origins to the later ptolemaic dinasties.
