Hi everybody,
My name is Dana Pommet and my wife’s name is Josephine. I was born in Gloucester, Massachusetts, in 1942, and except for a tour in the Navy, lived there for most of my life. I retired to Delray Beach, Florida in December 2000. We love to travel and photography goes hand and hand with that. I went digital about 5 years ago and started posting November 22, 2008. I have met so many wonderful people on RR and that makes this whole process so much more interesting than just posting photos. Thanks for all the comments and keep them coming.
Update  January 2012: After hiding and denying my mild Dyslexia, for most of my professional life, and now fighting with its advancement – I want to thank you all for putting up with my poor typing skills and spelling problems. I know that my spell checker hates me and I now depend completely on audio books rather then actually reading printed books.  Life marches on!  ÂÂ

Some time ago I walked there as well and ventured a few miles along Indian Ridge which goes west from where you were for this photo. When the path finally disappeared I thought I was somewhere where not too many had walked before...until I looked down and saw a Kodak film wrapper...dang! Yes, I did pick it up. Great shot, and in good weather! Yopu can also see the Jasper airport strip just above the center of the photo.

Ah, so that's how Jasper looks from the air. I recall riding the train through there on my way to Vancouver 1n February 1978. At the stop in Jasper, a girl got into the seat beside mine and we talked a bit about Jasper - she told me the day before, a mountain lion had sauntered into town just after sunrise. When people started coming out, it sauntered back to where it had come from. I found this quite interesting since such animals tend to avoid human habitation. Nice photo, and thanks for refreshing my memory. Keep up the good work! :)

Gorgeous vista, Dana! I had a most busy and tiring day today so that's why I'm going to keep my comments short. And I may miss Sunday altogether due to previous committments.
