Description

BIXI is Montréal’s new public bike system. It’s the bike that’s really an alternative means of urban transport. Accessible to everyone, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, three seasons of the year, from May to November. Take one when you need one, and leave it any station when you arrive at your destination. For a trip on the fly or as part of your daily routine – go BIXI! The stations are installed progressively in the spring, starting at the beginning of May, depending on weather conditions. Stations are kept in service until the end of November before being removed from the streets during harsh winter months. Gives you the right to an unlimited number of trips in a 24-hour period. For each trip, the first 30 minutes are included! Usage fees will be charged for longer trips. Thanks Magik

Great concept and an interesting narrative. I have heard about the Paris byke system, works similar to yours. I didn ´t know that you have such a system, too. A fine idea! Thanks for sharing, Magik!

WHY NO BIKE WAS STOLEN...!!! Users can rent a bike using a subscriber key obtained through a long-term online subscription or an access code provided by the pay station. Pay stations are touchscreen-operated and only accept credit cards. A button is used to notify Bixi mechanics of defective bicycles.

C'est quelque chose qui fonctionne plutôt bien en France depuis quelques années mais j'ai un peu des doutes sur la durée...n'est-ce pas un peu une mode ? L'hiver, chez vous, ça doit limiter le fonctionnement.
