Actually, you show a lot of promise. I too started with Daz Studio and a crummy machine. Do these things: - Visit www.daz3d.com and download the FREE V4.2 and M4 base packs, and also download anything else that interests you in free models - Visit Renderosity's freestuff, get one or two character packs for V4 and M4: These have realistic skins and morphs, they make the models look more real. - Visit www.sharecg.com and download one or two additional character packs. Then with a very simple plane as a floor, and another as a backdrop, learn to apply the character skins, how to pose the chars and how to get good looking shadows from your lights. Do it over and over again, with a mix of full body and facial closeup shots. Try different expressions: sad, happy, thoughtful. Do it until you think your characters are starting to look good. Try it: It works! Good luck - and keep posting!
