Beautiful photo showing the intricate carvings - such work in stone leaves no margins for errors in chiselling the stone. Nice wrought iron work in the background. Here, the sun through the windows is on the verge of giving wash-out around the window. Too bad we can't see the glass here (typical of the "sun through window in dark room" problem). Thanks for the nice photo. Have any of the chancel wood carved seats and trhe reredos? Keep up the good work! :)

Nice capture, my friend. Lots of detail, and the almost obligatory, work in progress / keep out sign. The font does look a wee bit high, so perhaps they had to use a ladder, or steps to hold the poor wee wean over the font, before proceeding to drown it ... ;o) I came across the same 'washed out windows' problem in Paris, but only occasionally was the glass stained. It was usually plain glass ( a result of the French Revolution I think ) as opposed to the Reformation which in in some parts of England left only fractured, or completely missing stained glass panes. So I've got to ask, was there actually some stained glass in those windows, or is it just plain? Warm regards, from a washed out Glasgow, John.
