My Davros animation now available at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EW2xxxaplz0
Millions of light years away the Daleks floated in interstellar space. Centuries before their enemies had joined forces and driven them from the Milky Way. As a result the Daleks encroached on the galaxy of a race of humanoid robots- the Movellans. Now the Dalek Fleet, consisting of twelve million craft in all, moved slowly in the darkness. Mixed in with these were the gigantic habitat spheres, where the Daleks based most of their reproductive facilities and supplies. The Movellans had kept the Daleks in the sky for the best part of four hundred years now, a surreal stalemate where each sides battle-computers strove to outthink the other. There were sporadic bursts of action on the front-lines but these quickly stopped again. Over the years the chunks of inactivity grew longer as each side ran simulations that invariably suggested that the other side was going to anticipate the move and which inevitably concluded that any action would simply result in losses. Of course, sometimes both sides engaged in what they knew was fruitless battle just to remind themselves of what it was like, and also because even Daleks and Movellans get bored sometimes.
Report! snapped the Dalek Supreme. Across the metallic floor of the bridge a blue and silver Strategist Dalek answered.
Intelligence reports indicate that Davros is now being held on the Earths moon.
How long would it take for the fleet to arrive there? demanded the Supreme.
The Strategist rolled back before answering: It would take our fleet approximately nine monthes to reach his position.
At this point a red Dalek section leader trundled forward and added: Battle computer simulations suggest that Earth and Allied Planetary Forces would engage the fleet long before that time.
Casualties?
Simulations suggest 80% Dalek Casulaties.
Unacceptable! screeched the Supreme, so forcefully that his top dome nearly shot off. This had been known to happen to Daleks in the past, the force of compressed air released when the dome flew off enough to catapult the mutant creature to the deck. In order to avoid this eventuality the Daleks had devised the luminosity dischargers (commonly known as light bulbs) in order to vent excess emotional energy. This was what the Supreme did now, his twin bulbs glowing an intense halogen blue as all the other Daleks rolled back in terror.
All except one Dalek who remained where it was thinking very hard about the problem. Every so often rogue strands of DNA would get through and become in time another Dalek mutant. This is what had happened now, the resulting Dalek astonishing his peers by making an uncalled for suggestion.
We should use a time-tunnel, it said.
What? demanded the Supreme. All the other Daleks turned their eyestalks towards the solitary grey drone, their finely tuned senses picking up on a certain vague oddness about it.
We open a time tunnel to the human solar system and send a small assualt squad through in a fast attack craft. They attack the human holding facility, sweeping in from a low orbit with the element of surprise on their side. They can then exterminate all opposition and retreive Davros to be brought here.
Is this possible? the Supreme asked his Specialist Daleks. The Specialists rolled back and forth and twitched their appendages.
It is theoritically possible; but we would need time to make the necessary calculations!
Excellent! bellowed the Supreme. You will make it happen or die trying!
Understood! As a final gesture the Supreme turned toward the original grey Dalek. You will lead the mission!
I obey! the Dalek trilled enthusiastically.
