Description

Just a quick update.. The character, as you've seen is nearly complete, so I've started to clothe her!. This part was somewhat difficult, as I had the idea of working my own images onto the outfit. For this reason, I needed a COMPLETELY flat map of the body, which I could then paint onto in Paintshop, allowing the design to fold and bend with the folds in the cloth. So I took a somewhat novel approach... The Kimono was built as a flat model, as if it were hanging on a straight rack, then mapped from there. I then imported it to Poser and used no less than 52 magnets to fit and bend the model to the shape I desired, allowing the design to follow the cloth naturally.. This is not the final design for the Kimono, just me playing at getting the Japanese painted silk images right. Not my usual painting style, so it'll take a bit of practice:-) So, comments and critique appreciated as usual!

Great start, Buddy. And more power to you. PS (or it's equivalent The GIMP) are very foreign and hostile territory to me. Interesting cherry tree in blossom motif.
