Just a quickie. I had a SS hearing yesterday before the court open my attorney was called into the courtroom which left me and the wife in the waiting area. The attorney came out and stated they were willing to agree I was medically disabled starting 11-1-09. I have been out on disability since 10-24-06. The attorney gave us the old bird in hand is worth 2 in the bush, so we agreed but still thought we were getting hosed. The attorney then gave us a copy of our doctors records. If I had seen them I would never have agreed to it. Now the fun and games are sure to begin. The deal I had with the Hartford Insurance was the would get all the money that SS paid and the would pay me the extra 10% and they would pay for the attorney, and pay me the 10% held back. The Hartford stopped paying me on 11-9-09, so it is not clear what money they word get to keep if any. My other attorney is also trying to come out with some answers. The Hartford was willing to say I was mentally disabled, but mental disability stops after 2 years, which is why they stopped paying me. They were about to files suit that I was physically disabled and they would get 20% of settlement of monthly settlement for 5 years not counting the SS Money. The SS attorney gave us a CD with all my medical records in it. After seeing what was on it I would never have accepted the 11-9-09 date, Sorry for the rant. Will let you know when and if it ever resolves.
