Description
I couldn’t leave Moraine Lake without a shot of the true color of the water. This is exactly as it came out of the camera. Moraine Lake is a glacially fed lake and the color, of the water, that you see, is caused by natural light reflecting off the silt (rock flour) that is suspended in the water. The silt is ground so fine, by the glaciers, that it isn’t heavy enough to sink. Keep in mind that this was an overcast day, with a heavy mist being held in by the 10 mountains that surround the lake. Imagine if it had been a bright sunny day. It was August 1st, 1988 and it snowed that morning. Zoom is good.
