Description

now beeing a guesthouse at Bjørgan, painted in this rusty red, which is typical for Norway. There are different stories about the origin of this typical coloring from using oxblood against the bad influence of ghosts to other more or less fairy tale stories. I was told that the true reason might be that this red color originally containing iron sulfate was used as it was cheap and was preserving the wooden walls at the same time. White color was much more expensive and so it was only used for the main living building on a farm while the red color was used for the other buildings. Thanks a lot for all your comments and favs on my first two pictures from Norway and I hope you like this one too...smile
