Description
This is a present for a special kind of birthday: in fact, this week it's a year that Mario Giannecchini has delighted us with his splendid photos.
CONGRATULATIONS, MARIO!!
He showed us sublime landscapes from Tuscany and natural jewels, such as his butterflies and the little, precious stories of his realtionships with these capricious creatures. Many thanks from a callous urbanite like me! So I thought that a macro of a butterfly wing I took last summer in a butterfly farm in New Brunswick was an apt gift. Of course, being the above-mentioned urbanite, I have no idea of species, age, sex, religion, political persuasion, and the like of this butterfly, but I count on the many Renderosian experts to fill the slots.

Grazie , Sandra mi hai fatto un omaggio stupendo !Leggendo poi i commenti mi e' venuta la pelle d'oca , sono commosso da tanta considerazione e ringrazio tutti.Per quello che riguarda la farfalla è senza dubbio la farfalla pavone che ho postato anch'io qualche giornol fa con le ali chiuse e aperte. Splendida elaborazione e eccezionale dedica. Grazie di nuovo , ti invio un caloroso abbraccio dalla Toscana e spero un giorno di incontrarti.

WOW! WOW! WOW! WOW! This reminds me of my past in a sense; I was (and am) a great fan of the great group Dead Can Dance...it's disbanded now, though there was a recent reunion done for charity. Lisa Gerrard, the female half of the duo (with numerous collaborators) has gone on to a fantastic solo career, but this image reminds me of one of their "best of" album covers...it was graced by an image of a butterfly wing...the same breed of butterfly...and even better, their version of a 14th Century salterello (did I spell that right) was featured on the album: played on traditional instruments and categorized as "Rock and Roll." How wonderful! This image brings all of that back, and after I post this comment, I'm going to go listen to a nice, lively salterello!
