I am a developing artist working on improving my abilities to create beautiful digital landscape compositions. Without the help and suggestions of the many fellow artists in this community, it would be a long time before I reach the next level.
BIO
I am a retired procurement professional who has long had an interest in photography and painting; and, lately in computers and photorealistic natural landscapes. I hope to become more proficient and perfect my abilities to produce acceptable work. My experience in art started at a very early age when I would spend many hours sketching and painting. I had instruction at The Art Institute in Chicago, Illinois. I did some freelance work for Flying Models, Model Airplane News and Top Flite Models creating plans and illustrative construction sequences for magazines and kit models. I had spent more than 20 years designing, building and flying radio controlled model airplanes...a very rewarding hobby for me. During the 1970s, I spent 11 years in the hobby of "bonsai"; the Japanese art of miniature trees. In my first 7 tree entry in a contest, all 7 trees were awarded ribbons in various categories. Japanese landscaping became a passion for me where I completed a 3 year project creating a Japanese landscape around my home in Oak Forest, Illinois. I also did this work for several other people in our community. In 1987 I moved to Phoenix, Arizona where I currently make my home. The love of the American southwest and all its beauty is where I wanted to spend the rest of my life. Now that we have computers, digital cameras; and, Terragen; I'll have enough to do for a long, long time.

What actually got my attention was the name of this composition. And I'm not really sure what do you want to say with it... "El lobo es Perdido" means that the name of the wolf is "Perdido" or that it was left behind either on purpose or accidentally by another entity in wich case "El lobo es perdido" is an incomplete sentence. "El lobo está perdido" means that the wolf in scene doesn't know where it is o where to go. The wolf reached that place on it's own and now wants to go back but doesn't know how. Other than the name of the composition, the landscape is great. It has a very good sense of realism. The pose of the wolf looks very natural but the texture looks kind of wierd, like made of stone or marble and not fur. Grettings.

to me the fur looks wet in the full size view, but excellent realistic work with the landscape Bob. Wonderful composition!!!!!!!

Wonderful variety in foliage and colors; placement looks realistic and natural. I like your stone work as well, and the lighting seems perfect. Good job on the wolf, but My personal preference would be to leave it out. Excellent render, Bob.

The fact you could get a wolf to model for you... my hat goes off. Really great low-level lighting, and you ARE getting this down better and better each time. Very nice work, Bob!

As I studied the scene more and more, it almost moves- the realism is that of a moment frozen. Superb work.
