Hello all
Well its been a while . thought I would pop in and say hello to you all :)
Took this image this summer in Northern Indiana Amish country
liked the mood here so thought I would share today .
I have always been fascinated with Amish life
and have been to Amish country about four times before .
I had never seen an open buggy in that area before like this one
( usually you see the closed Box buggy's )
To me, coming from Los Angeles ,
this seemed to be something out of a time capsule
I stuck my camera out the car window
and snapped hoping I had captured what seemed so beautiful to me.
There was a town summer fair that day( or festival )
in their neighboring town ( called Middlebury )
and these Amish ladies seemed to be driving toward it in cheerfully. you could hear the clip clop clip clop the the horses hoofs on the pavement . For just a short while I found myself dreaming of what it would be like Amish ( my great Grandmother was ) .
It seems like such a simple life ( although I know its also alot of hard work )
They seemed to be enjoying the breeze and
the backs of their colorful Amish dresses billowed in the wind .
It was one of my favorite captures from that day
and I thought it deserved to be in my gallery so posting :)
Have missed you all. ( my oldest daughter got real sick last year and so I took some time off . she is doing much better now )
now need to take a look around here at all your amazing work
and see what I have been missing out on !

Hi Kimmers and welcome back. We missed you and I'm sorry to hear your daughter got sick. I know how dreadful that could be for you both as I know how I fear it happening to my children. I see the dream in your picture and often wish for a simpler life as well. I think I might be genetically predisposed to work hard as I never seem to stop yet I do have a choice.

Good to see something from you again Kimmie. Great photo. I was in Amish country somewhere back in 1977, but I think it was in Pennsylvania, or was it Virginia... can't remember, I was only 14 then ;o) Keep well!

A beautiful capture of the Amish life. I too have always been fascinated by their simple way of life Also for their strong faith on forgiveness.That I personally think all of us could learn from. You know its a good thing you got this picture of their backs. I read once they don't like having their picture taken. As always a pleasure to view your work. :)
