Description
MI aveva modificato tutti i documenti .
I lost two hours in a tough fight with Word he wanted to do as they like, but I finally checked myself. MI had altered any documents. But have now returned to its previous state. I can not stand the intrusion into my work.
Today the second B & W photo, taken in Pisa on the Arno River towards the sunset, when the sun was dropped. I took this photo from the parapet of the river with 135mm Pentax KX and Havana, HP4 film in 1968 (I think). At that time I bought the film reels of 60 meter and was preparing measures to regulate the chargers .
The Arno River is the largest in central Italy after the Tiber and the main stream of Tuscany.
It has a total length of 241 km, a basin of 8,228 km ² and a very average annual flow at the mouth of about 110 m³ / s. Born on the southern slope of Mount Falterona, in the Tuscan-Romagna, at an altitude of 1,358 m above sea level, and flows into the Ligurian Sea shortly after passing through Pisa. Its vast basin collects water from various sub-
The sources of the Arno at Monte Falterona
Despite the remarkable extent of its catchment area (the 5th of Italy after the Po, Tiber, Adige and Tanaro), the Arno has an extremely torrential regime, due to the nature of the land from which its waters flow (marls and clays impermeable except for a modest portion of its tributary Elsa), hence explains the almost total lean year round: in Florence, for example against an annual average flow of abundance about 50 m³ / s, the river can drop in particularly dry summers, with values of only 1 m³ / s in Pisa, where the Arno has also received all its tributaries and more than doubled its average flow, its summer minimum flows can fluctuate between 6 and to just 2 m³ / s.
However the river in autumn is subject to very violent and raging floods often cause devastating floods i remember it well 172 historical documents from 1177 to 1941.
The most devastating in living memory was that of November 4, 1966 by some estimates nearly 2,500 m³ / s Pisa, 3540 at Rosano (Rignano Arno) and well 4500 in Florence (which was heavily invested) then the ' overflows by embankments Arno Casentino invading large areas of flat Empoli and Pisa, and especially the entire historic center of Florence, causing dozens of deaths and untold damage to the artistic and monumental heritage of the city of Pisa also a major bridge collapsed citizens .
The flood of 1966 is just the latest of a long series of destructive floods which over the centuries changed several times the face of Florence known fact is the disastrous flood of May 1333, which destroyed the Roman bridge which insisted on the website Ponte Vecchio and the current that swept the mutilated statue, which the citizens represented Mars, patron of the ancient Tuscan city. In Florence, and in many other cities and towns along the river are visible signs posted to mark the level of full of different eras.

Photojournalism superbo. I know this is a great photo when it makes me want to reach out and help that poor old man. He looks crumpled and worn out. The black and white photo plus the wonderful graininess underscores the age. Superb photojournalism.

He looks weary and drawn deeply into himself. Beautiful detail and textures in the boat, his clothes, and skin. There is great beauty and heart in this image. I echo Patty's sentiment. Photojournalism at its best.
