Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

All I know about chickens is that hens lay eggs (hopefully!!) and roosters crow (alway too early!!. I can tell you for sure that this is a great shot!!
MagikUnicorn
AWESOME!!

The extent of my chicken knowledge is that I can mostly tell a chicken from a not-chicken...this is a chicken (I think!) Great portrait!

Like everyone else, my chickenology is woefully limited...I know that the females lay eggs and that the males are loud, that they taste good when cooked right, and are extremely fluffy as chicks. That's about it though...oh, and they're distant, distant, distant descendants of dinosaurs, which explains why they're shaped like velocoraptors...only they don't hunt in packs and exhibit coordinated social behavior beyond picking en-mass. But yeah, even with my woeful knowledge of chickens, I must say that I love this shot and will have to see if someone I know recognizes this breed. I have friends who raise urban chickens and I'm sure they'll have some clue. Great shot here. The details are fantastic!

I don't know....if it weren't for the beak and little red wattle I'd say it was either an eagle, falcon or hawk. Stellar clarity and textures in this top notch capture of the chicken, Bill. Oh, and please check out the automobile fotos I posted over the last week or so.

I can add that they taste good in various forms, but it appears that she is giving you and us the evil eye!

Great macro!

the only thing I know about chickens is I enjoy eating them.nice shot Bill
Charberry
Could be a cross-bred. The markings seem larger than the pictures of Plymouth Rocks I pull up on the Internet. My BiL has chicken/turkey crosses called churkeys, and apparently they are super ugly, but lay good eggs, and taste good. Interesting image here of this one. Maybe it's a young one?

I guess you ran into my daughter in Kansas. She just got back 2 days ago and is planning on moving there within the year she loved it so much. LOL I'll have to ask her if you bumped into each other. :-) This is a great shot. I'm not a chicken expert but I know this looks like a hen. Great expression.

Beautiful portrait Bill. Strange to see a chicken with its clothes on!!! Lol.

I always want to cuddle hens, some will let you and some will not! This one, however, looks a lttle suspicious, probably as you are questioning her parentage.
Rhanagaz
A great portrait! She seems to be a very determed lady? ;o)

Looks like dinner to me lol, nice shot Bill..

I believe what you have there is a Speckled Sussex. I'm no chicken expert, but I Googled on "black and white speckled chicken" and narrowed it down from there. I don't need to be a chickenologist ... just know where to find one! :P This is a brilliant photo! Having seen the original, I can't tell you how impressed I am with your postwork and your mastery of cloning. It's good to have you home! :*
