Description
Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness,
Close bosom-friend of the maturing sun;
Conspiring with him how to load and bless
With fruit the vines that round the thatch-eves run;
To bend with apples the moss’d cottage-trees,
And fill all fruit with ripeness to the core;
To swell the gourd, and plump the hazel shells
With a sweet kernel; to set budding more,
And still more, later flowers for the bees,
Until they think warm days will never cease,
For Summer has o’er-brimm’d their clammy cells.
From John Keats' poem, To Autumn, 1820.
Thanks for looking,
Steve.

Nice image, Steve. It reminds me of a few islands I saw in the Lake District a few years ago, on one of those coach trips from Glasgow. It rained all weekend, except when we walked from hotel to bus, bus to shop, bus to boat etc. Few photos but lots to see and do. I'm sure that God, or one of his angels was definitely giving us his attention then. Like one mid-summer visit to Oban, the isle of Mull, and heavenly Iona, with not a midgie in sight. On the few occasions when I have an afternoon to myself, I'll set out to see how far I can get with my concession travel ticket, but I generally don't get very far,. I keep meeting people in need, finding myself in the right place at the right time, walking into the middle of situations, so that when I eventually stumble home, I've had a great, and totally unexpected day, full of incident and heart warming situations. A few hours like that is definitely more invigorating than a holiday, and much more memorable.. Now that the snow has probably made you put the bike in the hallway, just remember that each day can be an adventure, especially when you are not out looking for it ... ;o) Warm regards, from a snowbound Glasgow at -6C or so, John.
