Description

this is Hollybeach; the Riviera of Louisiana. Yes this is the best beach in Louisiana on the Gulf coast. The water is brown and at lest the breach is clean compare to what it was in the 1960's and 70's. I been there wher beer cans all over the place. and jelly fish you have to watch your steps or you step on one. it not like that any more. The beach is clean from beer cans anfd broken bottles and bbq pits thown away. Dirty dipers from baby too was there. if you look long time you even find the kitchen sink thown there. Now it clean. I know the gulf will thow the jelly fishes and other stuff from the sea there but at lest what man thows is not there too much. I sure there some people that will still thow suff away. Pichture tooken yesterday. I went yesterday because it raining today. I did wen camping here around 1967 and you stand in front of the tent the mosquitos was not there but you walk around the tent where the wind is block the mosquitos would cover you. we could build fires there too so that was nice. And that night the Gulf glow as the waves broke on the beach. cause by this effect. I not sure what really cause it but here a link that maybe what happen. http://www.usatoday.com/tech/columnist/aprilholladay/2005-11-21-glowing-sea-algae_x.htm thanks for comments and looking and favorite

Good to see it cleaned up I can never understand why people would want to litter and ruin such places that can be so full of beauty.. Nice work.

yeah looks very clean ,i saw the oither day a diapher laying around fyll of shit and peoples dum in the dunes. but then the idiots here only install one toilet (wich is closed and stuffed most of the time)for about 800 meters of beach, just imagine a 300 something laying and shitting there.besides that spanish kids are soo well educated that they add some yoghurts and icecream pots as well.

it does look very clean and excellent shot.every time I see posts here of clear blue ocean water and then think about the Gulf of Mexico brown colored water, it tends to discourage from going near it.I simply will not swim at Galveston.afterward it feels like some scum is drying on your body

Lovely shot! I like the color variations and textures of the sand. Great capture of the kids playing, kites flying, and flag being buffeted in the wind. Excellent info! I'm glad the beach has been cleaned up.

I did this when I was a young guy and had a lot of fun, but the sand got into everything! Lovely shot.
