Description

Well, it ain't Hubble quality. Hell, it's not even Reflectamatic 6 inch Newtonian quality. It's a Canon PowerShot SX20 IS. Not too shabby for what is basically a snapshot camera. Waning gibbous moon, shot at 20X optical zoom, on the above camera, shortly after sunrise, in bright daylight. Obviously I messed around with post filtering no small amount in order to increase the contrast and enhance what detail there was.

Pretty impressive for a snapshot type camera, amazing the advances they are coming out with on them. Nice work.

With some of the photos I see with point ans shoot models I better get some more creative composition in my stuff to stay ahead. In this one, I am left behind because you did a wonderful job. What is gibbous? Ah, now I know.
