Description

A Skip Jack is a vessel that was used in the Chesapeake Bay for dredging oysters. Some of them were constructed as early as 1880's. Some of them actually still are working boats and some are cruise boats for the Chesapeake Bay area. The first race of the renewed Skip Jack races off Deal Island Maryland was sailed on Labor Day 1960. This one was the 51st. year.
