Description

I went today to drop off three of my photos that will be on display for the first time, I am so excited. And on my drive back home I stopped at the UT trial gardens in Knoxville, Tennessee to enjoy the gardens and butterflies there and to take some photos, I hope you enjoy this one of the lily. Hope everyone is well, thanks for all your support, suggestions and comments.

First off, congratulations on displaying your artwork! Second of all...this is a great shot. Third of all--I'm a weirdo. Whenever I see water lilies or lotuses, I always think of that statue found in King Tutankhamun's tomb...the one of his head emerging from a lotus flower, and so whenever I see blooming water plants, I wonder if any of them have ever had human heads emerging from them. For me this s a positive association though, because I can't help but get all symbolic and mythic whenever I see water-plants blooming. This is a great shot because it's quite emotionally evocative and just plain fun to look at. Great work.
