Description
The things I do for my art *sigh*! To get this and the other fungus photo I've uploaded here I had to lie flat on my stomach on the ground - getting many odd looks from passers-by in the process! I think it was worth it though. I know this is a Cep because, unlike other edible British fungi, the underside looks like yellow foam rubber instead of the wheel-like gill spokes of common mushrooms. It's quite large - about 6" (14 cm) across and about 4" (12 cm) high and Ceps are now not very common in the UK so I was lucky to find it.
